Richmond Festivals & Shows
Richmond always seems to be brimming with activity. Whether it's a great band performing onstage in a club, a slick theatrical production, or a new museum exhibit that creates a big buzz, there's always something to see and something well worth celebrating. That flair for celebration is very much alive in the several festivals and annual shows that make their way to Richmond every year.
The State Fair of Virginia
seems to encapsulate all that's great about the state. Come and see competitions, horticulture and crop exhibitions, livestock shows, horse shows, as well as an unbelievable selection of arts and crafts and food, too! Plus, the world-famous carousel will be there, so don't even think about leaving before taking a colorful, musical spin. The festival is held in late September into early October.

Richmond's 2nd Street Festival
is held every October. Like many of the historical places and events that are associated with the city, this festival links the historical past to the prosperous present in the city's notable African American district where the event is held. Enjoy great soul food, live jazz and a festival that echoes back to the celebrations held back in the 20s, 30s, and 40s. It's an excellent party you won't want to miss.
